Artistic Wooden Solar PV Monitor |
SOLAR POWER MONITORING SYSTEMS are easily available nowadays, where the data can be easily in your face 24/7, on your computer, the internet or your mobile device. But what about on your wall? We hear of big easy to read LCD displays, but what about a solar power monitor with an easy to see display, taking up the entire wall? And all made of wood!
This is what those ingenius students at Stanford University have designed. As part of their sustainable house project called 'Start Home', where they are researching energy efficient appliances and ways to get off the power grid, they have designed what we would say, is the world's first wall mounted wooden solar power monitor.
Featuring a series of opposing wooden slats which fan out or slide together, relating to the solar system's efficiency and consumption of power in the home. Watch the video for an insight, we certainly praise the students for their ingenius, yet quirky design.
